THE BIG SCHOOL SHOW PROJECT
SUPPORTING SCHOOLS WITH CREATIVITY
WHAT IS IT?
The Big School Show Project from Treading The Boards gives primary schools the opportunity to stage a full production with the support of a professional director.
Â
Designed to be both accessible and impactful, the project guides pupils through the entire rehearsal process, from first read-through to final performance.
Â
Working closely with staff and students, the programme focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and performance skills, while ensuring that every child has a meaningful role to play. Rehearsals are structured, engaging, and tailored to suit the age and experience of the group, creating a positive and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive.

The project can be adapted to fit around the school timetable and can involve whole classes, year groups, or smaller cast productions. Whether working with a script or developing original material, the aim is to create a high-quality performance that pupils feel proud of.

Led by an experienced drama teacher and practitioner, The Big School Show Project supports schools in delivering memorable productions without adding pressure to staff workload. From shaping the performance to directing rehearsals and preparing pupils for the stage, the process is carefully managed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

A chance for every child to step into the spotlight and be part of something truly special.
