Board Breakers is Treading The Boards' 16+ acting group, created for young performers and emerging artists who are eager to deepen their understanding of theatre and further develop their performance skills.Designed to bridge the gap between youth theatre and professional training, sessions offer a more advanced approach to acting, encouraging members to take creative risks, challenge themselves, and explore their own artistic voice. Working as an ensemble, participants will engage with a wide range of performance styles and practices, developing both their individual technique and their ability to collaborate with others to Break the mould.
Throughout the year, members will explore:

Script work and scene study, analysing and performing a variety of contemporary and classical texts.

Devising original theatre, creating work inspired by themes, stimuli, and the group's own ideas and experiences.

Advanced acting exercises, focusing on character development, physicality, vocal expression, and stage presence.

Ensemble training, strengthening communication, trust, and collaborative storytelling.

Performance opportunities, working towards informal sharings, showcases, and public productions.
Board Breakers is ideal for those considering further study in the performing arts, preparing for auditions, or simply looking to be part of a committed and creative company of like-minded individuals. Whether your ambition is to pursue theatre professionally or to continue developing your passion for performance, the group provides a supportive environment in which to grow, experiment, and create ambitious work together.
Important Information
Price and Booking: Each session is booked individually at £12 per session, allowing flexibility to attend around other commitments.
